“Carga útil” is an artistic production proposal focused on the creation of solid works using cement and other construction materials such as wood, iron, as well as secondary materials typical of the construction industry - assembly adhesives, screws, metal mesh, resins, sand, etc. - which will be reused or repurposed to generate new forms and functions. This collection of sculptural pieces explores the intersection between art and design, highlighting the materiality and weight of the pieces.
The title “Carga útil” refers both to the literal weight of the objects and to the symbolic weight of art in everyday life:those pieces that are part of daily life and which, through design and the artistic process, can elevate their presence and their interpretation. The collection, consisting of 28 works of different sizes and different shades of grey with abstract and minimalist strokes, seeks to highlight the “weight” of the material, the importance of the creative and artistic process, and the different uses that can be given to materials from the field of construction.
The proposal is part of the artist's practice, which focuses on the use of cement as a plastic language and field of experimentation.
