CRIATURAS/CREATURES - Characters portrayed as a kind of robot on screens and illustrations. This is a project idealized by João Cardoso, aka CARDOZ, who, by extolling the most creative minds, aims to awaken the awareness of observers to some of the current issues of society: excessive use of mobile devices, dependence on social networks, artificial intelligence and its form of use; a tribute to art and a criticism of the type of visual content often promoted through the use of social platforms.

The works that make up the CRIATURAS series by CARDOZ are mostly composed of a base made of collages of images from a small collection of the magazine “Vida Mundial”, between the years 1967 and 1969. These were used in order to highlight the idea of each of the pieces with some of the most pressing social issues then and yet still current, such as excess industrial production, machismo or global surveillance.

In a mixed technique, CARDOZ then illustrates these bases with his CREATURES, which he gives life with acrylic paint, Posca pen and white glue. A view of today's society.
