Ecos del pliegue (Echoes of the Fold) is a research and artistic production project that combines the delicacy of origami structures with the solidity and translucency of porcelain. The research focuses on the possibilities offered by origami structures for working with texture, light and folds in ceramics, aiming to construct a space where the tradition of porcelain and origami intertwines with contemporary sculptural innovation. Viewers are thus invited to contemplate the unique convergence of these two languages and to explore the poetry inherent in the interaction between fold, plane, light and space.
The works are based on a spatial organisation that lacks predefined hierarchies. This is achieved through the use of the simplex as a lowest common denominator, which functions as a plastic language and a constructive resource. It allows us to start from a simple element (impossible to break down) to articulate complex forms that reflect from their own literalness to establish dialogues with the space they generate.
The poetics of the fold manifests itself in a diversity of forms that seem to defy gravity, constructing sensory spaces where geometry meets light. Ecos del pliegue seeks to establish a spatial and sensory dialogue with the viewer, appealing to a deep and primitive perceptual experience that transcends mere rational understanding.
